Dating in your 30sDating in your 30s can be a trying, if not exhausting, activity for those just back into the dating scene or even those perpetually single folks.

Long gone are the days when you’d meet someone through mutual friends or at a social gathering – most initial contact for people past their 20s seems to happening online. Whether it’s on a dating website such as eHarmony.com or match.com, more and more singles are logging on in the hopes of finding love. This is not a bad turn of events, just very different than our parents and their parents viewed the dating scene. Thirty-something’s are career driven and busy, so going to a bar or parties during the week are out of the question. They want these dating sites to do the leg work for them – and it’s as simple as turning on a computer and being able to sort through and pick from a variety of attractive singles right at their fingertips.Dating sites screen potential matches for subscribers, then allow them to either ignore or contact from a pool of people with similar interests and hobbies. Then it’s up to you what you do with the potential dates – most choose an informal initial meeting, such as coffee or a drink, just to see if there is a “spark” and they’d like to share a meal and more conversation with the person.Don’t fret, 30-somethings – there are a ton of successful relationships that have started online. And if you are old-fashioned, you can always stick to dating the way your parents did!
